Blog the house with a thousand windows

Half way down the Bloemgracht at number 87-91 there is the House with a Thousand Windows. This house is also known as “the Triplet house” or “De Drie Hendricken. Actually three houses, this is a very quaint golden-age building with step-gables.

How much windows does this house have?

Since we like to verify all facts in Amsterdam, we actually counted the little window panes.

The real number of windows is: 1956!

How Old is It

The house was built in 1642. It has some interesting details like marker stones and stained-glass windows.

Certainly worth a small detour if you find yourself in the Jordaan area.

This is what it looks like on the inside.
